Can I do a trial class before signing up?
Yes! Our trial class is an opportunity for you to experience any of our classes firsthand and decide if it's something you'd like to pursue further. If you enjoy the class and like our vibe, you can explore enrolling in regular classes and continuing your journey in Martial Arts with us at Hertz Grappling.

What should I expect in my first trial class?
Regardless if you are a complete beginner or have prior training experience, we understand that taking your first steps into a new environment can be intimidating. Our friendly coaches will do their best to help you feel comfortable and answer any questions you may have.
All our classes at Hertz Grappling are beginner friendly and you will participate in an array of short warms technique discussion and skill practice. Throughout the training session your coach will check on you and provide expert feedback to help you consolidate learning.
What memberships do you offer?
We offer a number of flexible membership options. Please click here to select and buy memberships; and book your classes.
What should I wear?
Appropriate and clean clothing must be worn.
Submission Grappling (No-Gi)
Rash guard, compression top
Shorts, leggings/spats (for men, shorts must be worn over leggings / spats)
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (Gi)
BJJ Gi (a t-shirt or rash guard must be worn under your gi jacket for hygiene purposes)
BJJ ranked belt (white, blue, purple, brown, black)
I don’t have a Gi, rash guard, or any of these things.
T-Shirt
Shorts (no zippers or pockets are permitted)
Do you have changing/shower facilities?
We have changing cubicle and a toilet available at the Studio.
Is there parking available?
Important: Please do not park in front of the residential area past Unit 1.
You can park in front of Hertz Grappling Martial Arts studio (Arch 3) should they be closed on the weekend or past 6pm.
There is a pay car park across the Studio.
There are available street parking along Theobalds Lane & Waltham Cross High Street.
Can I bring my bicycle?

How old does my child have to be to start classes?
We offer Kids BJJ from, 5-8 years old and 9-14 years old.
We will need parental consent for clients aged under 16 years old.
